PTHS Thespians Present The Wiz: March 6-9
Mark your calendar for the annual PTHS musical on
March 6, 7, and 8 at 7 p.m. and March 9 at 2 p.m. Directed by Mr. Ray Cygrymus, the show features
Rachael Ferraco as Dorothy, Stephen Rothhaar as the Wiz, Hayden Bennett as Lion, Charlie Meyers as the Tin Man and Cullen Browell as Scarecrow.
PT Character Counts Spring Recognition Awards
The Peters Township Character Counts Spring Awards Program will take place on April 22 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building. If you would like to nominate someone who exemplifies the ideals of respect, responsibility and honesty, please complete the nomination form attached and return it by Friday, March 28, 2014.
Peters Township Kindergarten Registration
Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2014 are eligible to register for kindergarten in Peters Township. Click
for specific information on registration dates and times for Bower Hill Elementary and Pleasant Valley Elementary, and other important information for parents.
Updated School District Calendars
Updated District calendars are now available for parents to download. The revised 2013-14 calendar includes the make up dates that resulted from the recent closures. The Board has also approved the 2014-15 school calendar as well.

UPDATED! New Phone System for PT Schools
On January 20, the Middle School was added to the list of District buildings included in the new phone system. The new phone system in now in place in the Middle School, High School, Administration Building, Bus Garage and Pleasant Valley Elementary. This system will provide improved reliability and includes added features for staff members. Over the next few months, you will be alerted as additional schools are brought online to the new system. PTMS is a National Blue Ribbon School!
The U.S. Department of Education has named Peters Township Middle School as a National Blue Ribbon School. This year, 286 schools were designated as 2013 National Blue Ribbon Schools based on their overall academic excellence or for their success in closing achievement gaps. The Department will honor the 236 public and 50 private schools with their National Blue Ribbon School awards at a conference and awards ceremony on November 18-19 in Washington, D.C.
School Performance Profiles Available
Beginning in 2013, school districts across Pennsylvania will now share student academic performance data using a School Performance Profile (SPP). While schools previously received a No Child Left Behind designation of “adequate yearly progress”, public schools will now receive an academic performance score.
Overall our scores are excellent and reflect the high standards that our parents and community expect from our schools.

PTHS Junior Earns Perfect Score on ACT
PTHS junior Matt Gummersbach recently scored a perfect 36 on the ACT exam. He is ranked as one of the top 1,100 students among the more than 1.8million who took the exam last year. The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in English, Math, Reading and Science.
Seven PTHS Students Named National AP Scholars
Seven students have qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. These students are:
, Maple Chen, Matthew Girouard, Bryan Hall, Carla Hoge, Brandon Lo, and Matthew Perryman.
Senior Max Lindsay Named National Merit Semi-Finalist
Senior Maxwell Lindsay has been named a semifinalist in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Max is among an elite group of 16,000 students from across the nation to earn this honor. Max will now have an opportunity to compete for more than $35 million in scholarships.
FBLA at National Competition
Three senior from Peters Township High School took part in the National FBLA Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California. The team of Bryan Hall, Grace Brandstetter and Paige Hannah competed in the Marketing competition at the event and earned 6th place overall.
